Last Place on Earth Pet Store has served Gastonia since 1991. In 2007 we moved from Gaston Mall to a larger store at Akers Center. The store is family owned and operated. Our animals and our customers are our top priority. Our goal is to provide Friendly, Knowledgeable Service.

Most of our employees have been with us for many years. We pride ourselves on our knowledge to help our customers properly care for their pets. We are a full line store providing a wide variety of birds, puppies, small animals, reptiles, tropical and goldfish. We are licensed and inspected by the USDA, the NC Department of Agriculture and the American Kennel Club (AKC). We have never failed an inspection. Our inspection reports are proudly displayed in our window.

 

 

 

 

For many years, we have been known for our hand-fed, hand-tame baby birds. We raise African Grays, Macaws, Cockatoos, Conures, Amazons, Quakers, Cockatiels and more. We get our birds from selected local breeders. We do not get any birds from large commercial aviaries. We hand feed the babies until they are weaned. We do not sell un-weaned babies. Our birds come with a full 60-day health warranty. We also stock a variety of parakeets, lovebirds and finches.

Our puppies all come from USDA licensed and inspected breeders. We have dealt with our network of our breeders for many years. We do not buy 'off the street' and do not deal with large commercial breeders such as Hunt. Our breeders give us a one year health guarantee. In turn our puppies come with a one year health warrantee. Our purebred puppies are registered with AKC, APRI, UKC or ACA.

We carry a wide assortment of snakes, lizards, iguanas, amphibians and arachnids in our Reptile Room. We do not sell any venomous snakes. We have one of the most knowledgeable Reptile People on our staff. If you have questions – ask for Adam.

We have bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas and more. We sell only Marshall Farm Ferrets. Our ferrets have a one-year health warranty provided by Marshall.

We have a wide variety of tropical and goldfish. We have a beautiful assortment of Bettas, including crown-tails and female betas. We are happy to special order fish for our customers.
